It's a short week before the Thanksgiving break, but we'll be busy.
We'll be spending two days exploring nonfiction, including Native American in the United States today. This and a virtual field trip on Monday set us up to examine some of the Native American tribes that called Texas home. We're also investigating figurative language, electricity, and multiplication.
We'll spend some more time discussing science projects. They are required, and students were given their assignment packets, a checklist of interim steps, and an opportunity to examine some successful science boards on Friday. The first part of the project — reviewing the packet with a parent and identifying a project — is due Tuesday with a parent signature. A portion of the project's rough draft is due each Tuesday, culminating with the final project, science trifold display, and oral report due on Jan. 12.
We hope you'll join us Tuesday at 1:45 for Mills' traditional Thanksgiving sing-a-long and have a restful and thanks-filled holiday.
