In the coming weeks, we’ll tackle:
Reading — Novel study with Trouble River by Betsy Byars
Writing — Experimenting with sentences types and variety plus homophones
Social Studies — Test this week covering exploration in the Western Hemisphere, then shifting to early Texas missions and settlements.
Math — Division
Social Emotional — Interacting with others and showing compassion
Science — Students should be hard at work on their science fair projects. Projects aren’t due until mid-January, but this is an important opportunity to work on project planning and time management skills.
Lots of others activities are happening around Mills in the coming weeks.
I hope you’ll support the Mills’ Barnes & Noble Book Fair Dec. 2-4 in Sunset Valley. Donations benefit the amazing literacy programs we have at Mills.
Our school is also participating in Austin’s Coats for Kids program. New or gently used coats can be dropped off in the front lobby between now and Dec. 7.
And finally, our front office staff is in desperate need of volunteer help. If you’ve got some time to help, contact Ariella or Susan.
Thanks, I can’t wait to see everyone again Monday!
