December can be an exciting, busy month, and our classroom is no exception.
Please be sure to visit — and shop — at the Barnes & Nobel in Sunset Valley this weekend (Dec. 5-7). The bookseller donates a portion of sales on that date to our school. You can also shop online or at other stores, using the code for our school's fundraiser:
11509411. Look for guest readers from 2:30-4 on Saturday!
Here's what's keeping us busy in the classroom:
Reading: We're on our final portion of Trouble River. We'll also finish up our maps of Trouble River and use them to write a complete summary of the book.
Writing: We'll finish up our examination of figurative language, then revisit and expand our understanding of types of sentences. We also have a spelling unit this week, with a quick look at contractions next week.
Science: We'll carry our exploration of energy forward with a look at force and motion.
Social studies: We're examining the culture of some of Texas' largest Native American groups.
Math: We continue to explore multiplication strategies and extend that to division.
Social Emotional: We'll revisit joining in conversations and activities.
