Ongoing — Declaration of attendance for 2016-17 school year and proof of address are due soon
Feb. 10 — Class picture day (12:45)
Feb. 12 — Valentine's Day brunch (8-8:45)
Feb. 15 — Student-led conferences / no school — 8-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m.
Feb. 16 — District writing benchmark (4 hours, beginning at
Students began working on their spring goals conference form last week. Please help your child complete this and return it by Friday. See the handouts section for a copy of this form and the letter sent earlier this year regarding student-led conference. We look forward to seeing you in our classroom next week.
For Valentine's Day, students need to bring a Valentine for each classmates, and each Valentine needs to include a very specific, student-written compliment for the student receiving it. Students also should bring a decorated bag or box for Valentines distribution. Students received instructions and a class list last week.There's also a copy in the handouts section.
The Newbery project is also due this week. The students should be mostly finished with this as they've also had class time daily to work on it. We'll assemble the actual packet in class Thursday, plus they'll give their oral reports beginning Thursday. Next up, is poetry. Students have quite a few resources available in their reading spiral.
